Masaryk Basketball Court

Recently, Nike Basketball took an old and run down gym called Masaryk that is located in New York's Lower East Side and re-modeled it into the ultimate basketball facility, fully stocked with balls, equipment, a beautiful court and even on-site trainers. They have given free access to this gym to a select group of individuals who Nike Basketball considers to be, "part of their extended family". The point is to give them access to great basketball during the winter when it's too cold to hit the outdoor black tops. Playing competitive basketball while networking with some of the top creative industry folk in New York would be an amazing experience. Geesh. Like New York needs another reason to make me wanna live there. Check the video below for an interview with one of the lucky Masaryk members.

Earlier in the year I sat down and chopped it up with my dude Prof-ac and he mentioned that he was preparing to battle in DNA's Concrete Animals rap battle league. Here's that battle. With a decided victory Prof repped Bermuda hard. I can't say how geeked I am for this dude.

This is a bit late in coming but worth a listen. Lyrically tight with solid production throughout. Never one to shy away from baring his emotions on a song, Prof airs it all out on this dope effort. King Texas

New York based King Texas (Texas Malika Toussaint-Baptiste), is one of my favorite photographers right now. Like any great photographer she has an uncanny ability to bring her subjects personalities out and make them larger than life. You get the impression that her photos capture the "real" New York and the undeniable swag New Yorkers seem born with. She's part of a crew of artists called, The New Pop who were noted by URB magazine as artists to watch in 2009. I would take their advice.
