Apparel for Nelson Whynder Elementary

Orange S.O.L.E. hoodie

Nelson Whynder Elementary used a variation of the graphic that we designed for them on apparel to help encourage students to have respect for their self, others, learning and their environment. They produced it in t-shirts and hoodies in a range of colours and sizes. The shirts and hoodies have become very popular among community members affiliated with the school.

Dialogue Lounge

Last night I attended a discussion series hosted by Ujamma at The Hub focused on crime and accountability within the African Nova Scotian community. I met some very inteligent and passionate people and came away from it feeling energized. At this point I don't want to get into too much of what was said, but the overall message that I took away from it is that a lot of the issues affecting society as a whole are affecting the African Nova Scotian community at a higher rate and if this problem will be addressed we can't wait for the government or anyone else to do it. We've got to take these issues on ourselves.

The Talented Mr. Green

Mos Def
Young Buck
A few weeks ago while on my daily travels across the interweb I stumbled across a talented illustrator/designer based right in my backyard of Halifax, Nova Scotia. His name is Paul Green and he's got some great pieces in his portfolio including a campaign that he did for the Midwives of Nova Scotia. My favorite pieces are his portraits of some of todays hip hop icons. He's a recent grad of The Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University and is hungry and on his grind. Holla at him here.

Asia and Nu Gruv Perform in Sydney (Photos and Video)

In February I visited Sydney to attend a Gala celebrating Black History Month. When the meal was done and Nu Gruv hit the stage it was gettin' down time! If you're ever in Nova Scotia and have a chance to see these guys I highly recommend it.
